- Use a casket or urn bought elsewhere
- Decline embalming when it is not legally required

Stillpoint is not a funeral home, crematory, cemetery, funeral director, or insurance seller. We do not arrange funerals, perform cremations, transport the person who died, prepare the body, sell caskets or urns, operate cemeteries, or issue death certificates.

We also do not sell pre-need contracts or final-expense insurance. If you are planning ahead, it helps to know these are different products. A pre-need contract is usually tied to funeral services with a provider. Final-expense insurance is an insurance policy sold through a licensed agent. If you are considering either one, ask how your money is protected, what is guaranteed, what can change, and what happens if you move or cancel. This is general educational information, not legal, financial, tax, or insurance advice.

Our role is narrower and simpler: we help you understand your options, and if you choose, we help connect you with licensed providers so you can compare and decide for yourself.

Stillpoint is free for families to use. There is no charge to ask questions, learn about common options, or request a match with providers.

In general, services like ours may be supported when providers pay to participate in a network or to receive introductions from families who ask to be connected. That support allows us to offer information and matching at no cost to the public.

Being free does not change your rights. You are still free to compare providers, ask for each funeral home's GPL, and choose only the goods and services you want. You can also use a casket or urn bought elsewhere, and you can ask whether embalming is actually required in your situation. Before moving forward with any provider, confirm that it is licensed in your state and ask for prices in writing.
